Jim Browning Bio

Dr. Browning obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 1983. He is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#722). Dr. Browning has been working with Chuck Jung Associates since 2013. At Chuck Jung Associates, Dr. Browning provides psychological assessment, diagnoses, and treatment. He also provides expert opinion reports and independent psychological evaluations.

Dr. Browning provides treatment to adults, adolescents, and couples using a primarily cognitive behavioural therapy approach. He has expertise in working with such problems as anxiety, depression, anger management issues, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, interpersonal conflict, substance misuse, and relationship problems.

Prior to working with Chuck Jung Associates, Dr. Browning worked extensively in the fields of mental health, intimate partner violence, and employee assistance. He was the Co-director of the Assaultive Husbands Program, a court-mandated treatment program for abusive partners. He was also the Director, Clinical Services, British Columbia for Wilson Banwell and Associates, a national psychological services firm specializing in services for employees, companies, and organizations. He currently maintains a private practice, in addition to his work with Chuck Associates, which focuses primarily on adult psychotherapy, couples therapy, and the assessment and treatment of those accused of criminal offences. Dr. Browning has testified in both Supreme Court and Provincial Court in cases related to personal injury and criminal matters.
