Dr. Iris Sharir

Dr. Iris Sharir completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor in 2002. She is a Registered Psychologist (#1536) with the College of Psychologists of BC. She worked in a number of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings prior to starting in private practice.

Dr. Sharir has been working with CJA since 2010. At CJA, Dr. Sharir provides psychological assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. She also conducts IME’s.

Clinically, Dr. Sharir works with older adolescents (age 15 and older) and adults individually. She uses the following evidence-based practices when working with clients in treatment: cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), Humanistic, and Mindfulness. She has expertise in working with the following psychological concerns: Adjustment to brain injury, anger management, anxiety disorders, chronic pain, COVID-19 related stressors, depressive disorders, family of origin issues, grief/bereavement, life transition/adjustment issues, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, sleep disorders, somatic disorders, trauma disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and workplace stressors.

Dr. Sharir has been active in supervising senior psychology students for many years. She also volunteers with a number of community organizations.
