Dr. Laura Klubben attained her PhD in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She is a Registered Psychologist (#2185) with the College of Psychologists of BC. She is EMDRIA Certified in EMDR (#57660881), a type of trauma treatment, and an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Consultant.

Dr. Klubben has been working with CJA since 2014. At CJA, Dr. Klubben provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. She conducts independent medical examinations (IMEs). She also provides assessment and treatment for veterans and military personnel, including assessment and treatment for veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces. She also serves as a Clinical Supervisor as well as a CJA Practice Consultant.

Clinically, Dr. Klubben works with adult clients individually. She uses the following evidence-based practices when working with clients in treatment: acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). She also utilizes mindfulness-based approaches.

Dr. Klubben has expertise in working with clients dealing with the following psychological concerns: trauma disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); mood disorders, including depression; stress and anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, vehicular phobias, and panic attacks; chronic pain; concussion and brain injury; disordered sleep; life transitions and adjustment issues; motivation and procrastination issues; disordered eating and body image issues; family of origin issues; self-esteem and self-confidence issues; as well as identity challenges including racial/socio-cultural, sexual, and gender-identity issues.
