Rob Bedi

Dr. Bedi attained his PhD in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and then completed a post-doctoral psychology residency in the area of substance addictions at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Rafael, CA. Dr. Bedi is a registered psychologist (#1766) with the College of Psychologists of BC.

Dr. Bedi has been working with CJA since 2009. At CJA, Dr. Bedi provides psychological assessment, diagnoses, and treatment. He occasionally provides IMEs with extended notice.

Clinically, Dr. Bedi works with adult and adolescent individuals, couples, and families with adolescent or adult children. He often uses the following evidence-based practices when working with clients: humanistic/person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and multicultural therapy as well as integrative approaches.

In addition to his work with CJA, Dr. Bedi works as an associate professor of counselling psychology at the University of British Columbia, where he conducts research on counselling/psychotherapy and on cultural psychology, teaches counselling courses, and provides clinical supervision to counsellors- and psychologists-in training. He is the recipient of many awards and honours, including the Distinguished Member Award from the Canadian Psychological Association Section on Counselling Psychology, and frequently gives talks and workshops worldwide.
